Hot Griselda
Trying to escape Irish traditional music uilleann piper Stijn van Beek ended up at a folkbal in Nijmegen, looking for some shelter for the autumn cold of 2007. But apparently there was no escape. Before he even managed to enter the dancefloor the haunting sound of the Irish pipes surrounded him once again, this time played by multi-instrumentalist Toon van Mierlo. They met after the concert and a steaming session took off. At a balfolk weekend in Enschede later the same year history repeated itself, this time with another Belgian musician: Jeroen Geerinck. As a matter of chance, Jeroen and Toon planned to play a concert together next Boombalfestival. The only question was: who with? The always wandering Stijn appeared to bring the solution along with his companion Kaspar Laval on bouzouki. And so it came that last summer two wandering Dutchmen travelled south to meet their new made Belgian friends.
